Chef Robert Murphy
A native of South Glens Falls NY, Chef Rob Murphy has been working in kitchens since he was 15. Murphy became inspired by culinary arts during his teen years as he traveled across the U.S. with his father Jeramie, building and selling custom furniture. Eating at countless restaurants throughout his travels, it didn't take long for him to become obsessed with the art and science of the restaurant experience.
At 22, Murphy became serious about food preparing and creating inspired dishes when he was given the opportunity to run his own kitchen and design his own menu. He credits many influences to his rise. His ambition and work ethic, he credits his father, Jeramie; the passion to create craveable dishes from scratch, he credits the late Chef Shawn Whalen of Bistro Tallulah; and Chef Thomas Keller, he credits for being one of his earliest inspirations.
In 2014, in collaboration with his father, Jeramie (construction) and his Mother, Maria (interior design, bookkeeping, and public relations), Craft On 9 became a reality. Today, it remains committed to delighting every guest.
